Winter in Hintertux
When a layer of white gold covers the mountain, nature goes into hibernation, and the crackling fire makes you feel cozy and right at home - this is the time for pure winter enjoyment in Hintertux with numerous highlights in gorgeous mountain scenery!
245 km of slopes, 5 ski areas, 64 state-of-the-art lifts, 35 huts between elevations of 840 and 3,250 meters – this is the skiing and glacier world of the upper Zillertal. At an elevation of 3,250 m, the Hintertux Glacier in the Zillertal will enchant you with its view of the surrounding 3,000 meter high mountain peaks. Powder snow and natural snow are guaranteed from October to May.
After hiking up on foot or taking a taxi, numerous toboggan runs and romantic mountain huts invite you to stop for refreshments with mulled wine and delicious treats and then dash back down into the valley on a toboggan through the forests of the upper Zillertal. The Bichlalm has a 3 km long floodlit toboggan run and is directly reachable from the vacation apartment on a 50 minute walk.
Our holiday region offers fearless climbing enthusiasts numerous icy waterfalls to climb. Under the expert supervision of action guides, you can learn the technique of ice climbing. For all those who prefer a warmer setting, the climbing halls in Mayrhofen and Aschau also promise pure climbing enjoyment.
During a winter vacation in the Tux holiday region, cross-country skiing enthusiasts and skaters will find a diverse sports offer: 14 classic trails that lead from Tux-Vorderlanersbach to Madseit and a 14 km skating trail in Juns/Madseit.
Summer in the Zillertal
Conquer the Zillertal: whether on two wheels or two legs, on the lush greenery of the golf course, up high on a via ferrata climb, or racing through the rapids while rafting. You are guaranteed to find the perfect outdoor activity that will make your adventure or active vacation in nature a success. The "most active valley in the world" was made for you to conquer it.
Our guests can enjoy the charming landscape of the upper Zillertal on magnificent, well developed hiking paths with a total length of 200 km. The mountain stations of the Hintertux Glacier and Eggalm cable cars are also the starting point for numerous mountain tours and high-altitude hikes.
Via ferrata routes
There are 6 via ferrata climbs in all difficulty levels. Mountain sports schools and many sports shops offer rental equipment and guided tours.
Golfing in the Zillertal
There is an 18-hole championship golf course 20 minutes away in Uderns. Awaiting you are 65 hectares of pure golfing enjoyment with a large practice facility incl. covered tees and short course, a PGA golf school, as well as a clubhouse and restaurant "Albatros" with cuisine of a toque-awarded level.
Nordic sports & running
The running and Nordic walking routes are designed for sports and lead through especially quiet and pristine parts of the countryside in Mayrhofen and the surroundings. There are 18 routes, 6 starting points, 130 km, and an absolute highlight for mountain runners - the "Harakiri Hill" with a 78% gradient.
